These are Martial Arts based techniques derived from several styles including Arnis, Jeet Kune Do and Karate. That being said, I do not want these techniques to be rigidly interpreted. The goal is to be naturally reactive and do the technique from a comfortable natural position, deriving success through fluid motion. “Move like water.”
As we progress through the techniques you will find many of them to be repetitive. This is by design, because, many of the techniques can be done empty handed, with almost any type of implement or with an edged weapon. This allows for a low number of techniques with a high number of options and variations.
Never fight force with force.
Wait for the act of commitment from your opponent, then strike.
